Twenty-seven Green Projects Selected for State Funding

As part of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s competition for economic development funding, 27 innovative storm-water projects have been selected for funding under the Green Innovation Grant Program (GIGP), New York State’s award-winning program to spur the development of green technologies.

This was the third round of funding under GIGP, winner of the prestigious Pisces Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In this latest round, $20 million was available for green projects that will improve water quality and demonstrate green storm water infrastructure. Nearly 200 projects from across New York State competed through the Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) process and 27 were eventually selected in conjunction with the 10 Regional Economic Development Councils created by Governor Cuomo.

The winning applicants for GIGP 3 are listed here.

EFC first created the program using federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. New York was the only state to apply its “green” dollars in this manner. For more information on the GIGP program, click here.
